McMahon Thoroughbreds Team
Joe and Anne McMahon
Joe and Anne McMahon Founders of McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, LLC
Married since June of 1970, Joe and Anne McMahon have called Fitch Road home since 1971. Joe's family is local to the Saratoga area and he grew up at the Saratoga backstretch. Anne's family is from Rhode Island. She found her way to Saratoga as a freshman at Skidmore College, lured by the riding program at the college and the beauty of Saratoga Race Course. They are the parents of five children (Michael, John, Jane, Kate and Tara), and they have 16 grandchildren!
Joe has been active on the board of the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. since its inception and he now serves as an appointed Breeder Member of the New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund Board.
Each is active on a daily basis on the farm. They feel it is important to have a “hands on” approach to running their farm. Whether being present at a foaling, during the vet rounds, caring for and raising foals, breeding the stallions to the mares, in the hayfield or the office, they keep that personal touch in their business.
Joe and Anne are active skiers and also enjoy boating, horse racing and riding.
