Morning Matcha did not disappoint in her 2024 debut in the $100,000 Unique Bella S. April 22 at Parx when the 5-year-old daughter of Central Banker came home a 2 ¼-length winner in the seven-furlong contest.
After given the winter off following her win in the $125,000 NY Stallion Series S. in early December, Morning Matcha was at the top of her game in the Unique Bella. She was well off the early pace, with only two horses beat after a quarter-mile. Once asked for her run with a half-mile to go, she swooped four-wide around the turn and was second turning for home.
The bay easily went by Aoife’s Magic in upper stretch and came home a comfortable winner in 1:26.33 on a fast main track.
Morning Matcha, who won this race in 2023, is now a four-time stakes winner of $954,940 for owners L C Racing, Cash is King LLC and Gary Barber. She was bred in New York by Crane Thoroughbred Services LLC.
