Solomini's Doc Sullivan Adds Third Stakes Win to Standout 2025 Campaign

Doc Sullivan continued his strong 2025 campaign with a decisive victory in the $121,250 Alex M. Robb Stakes for older New York-breds at Aqueduct, further underscoring the consistency and class of runners by Solomini.

The 4-year-old New York-bred, campaigned by Tristar Farm, added the Alex M. Robb to earlier stakes wins in the John Morrissey Stakes at Saratoga Race Course and the Thunder Rumble division of the New York Stallion Series Stakes at Aqueduct. Trained by John Ortiz, Doc Sullivan has put together an excellent second half of the season, also finishing second in the Empire Classic Stakes and holding his own in graded company on the NYRA circuit.

Under Ricardo Santana Jr., Doc Sullivan delivered another professional performance, settling just off the pace before asserting himself turning for home to win the one-mile Alex M. Robb by a length. The victory improved his career record to seven wins from 20 starts, with six seconds and two thirds, while boosting his earnings to $726,590.

Bred by Seamus Coughlan and foaled at Sleepy Hollow Farm, Doc Sullivan is out of the Giant’s Causeway mare Queen Frostine and is a half-brother to several durable winners, including the 12-time winner Fix Me A Sandwich. Originally an $85,000 yearling at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga, he was later acquired by Tristar Farm as a 2-year-old and has continued to reward that confidence on the racetrack.

Doc Sullivan is another high-level representative for Solomini, who stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. A son of Curlin, Solomini continues to sire tough, versatile runners capable of competing at the stakes level, reinforcing his value as a proven New York stallion.
