Jane McMahon celebrated a milestone victory on October 22 when three-year-old Great Happenings broke her maiden at Belmont Park, giving McMahon her first career win as a trainer.

Ridden by Katie Davis, Great Happenings captured a $100,000 New York-bred maiden special weight race going six furlongs on the turf. The daughter of Runhappy defeated a field of 10 rivals, finishing ahead of Bocage Belle and It'sgoodtobequeen to secure the victory.

The win was especially meaningful for the McMahon family, as Great Happenings was bred in partnership by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, LLC, Kyle Buchakjian and others. She races for a partnership that includes Joe and Anne McMahon, Kyle Buchakjian, Kevin and Kelly Latta, and Windswept Stables.

Out of the Teuflesberg mare The Great Johanna, Great Happenings had previously finished second in her career debut at Belmont Park in September 2025. Her return to the races marked both her first career victory and a successful training debut for McMahon, who earned the win with her first official starter.

For Jane, who has long been an integral part of the family operation, the achievement represents another chapter in McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds' history. With Great Happenings delivering her first victory, Jane adds her own milestone to the family's long history of success in Thoroughbred racing.

Congratulations to Jane and the entire team behind Great Happenings on a memorable achievement!
